INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A new sweet spot is drawing crowds in Westfield, where community spirit and small-batch scoops go hand in hand.

Stella’s Ice Cream, which opened in July, has quickly become a neighborhood favorite thanks to handcrafted flavors, strong local support and a mission to spark joy.

“We had great support from the folks here in Westfield,” said owner Ron Watson. “We had a giveaway of like 50 pints the first day, which went within an hour. We had lines out the door.”

The Westfield Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony, complete with opening-day giveaways and face painting.

“What sets us apart is we make all of our ice cream in the shop,” Watson said. “It’s small-batch, a gourmet product with really good flavors and ingredients.”

The menu features 10 classics such as strawberry, chocolate and vanilla, a weekly rotating flavor, 6 seasonal picks and 8 always-available dairy-free options.

Watson said the joy factor is the best part.

“People are happy when they come in. I love seeing the ice cream on the kids’ faces,” Watson said. “Ice cream just makes people smile.”

He added that the shop’s purpose is simple: “promoting joy and peace and happiness.”

Adventurous guests can tackle the Bulldog Bowl—16 flavors, 3 toppings and whipped cream—in under an hour. Only one person has finished it so far.

“It’s a heck of a lot of ice cream,” Watson said.

This month, Stella’s is partnering with Susan G. Komen for breast cancer awareness, donating proceeds from pink flavors like strawberry, with an option for customers to contribute in-store.
