Quiet Halloween before rain moves in with snow in the High Country

Posted

Tonight we will see a quiet Halloween weather wise here in Southern Colorado. Expect partly cloudy skies with lows in the lower 40s.

Sunday will bring us partly cloudy skies for most areas along the I-25 Corridor and Eastern Plains. Areas of Southwest Colorado near the San Juan Mountains will see heavy rain for most of the day. Flash Flood Watches and Warnings have already been posted for the area near Pagosa Springs, where several inches of rain could fall in a short time. We also have Winter Storm Warnings for that areas, for the mountains above 10,000 feet. Highs for most of us will climb into the lower 60s.

Rain moves into the I-25 Corridor along with cooler temperatures. Highs will climb into the upper 50s. Snow levels will fall throughout the day and could drop to 7000 feet by the late afternoon and evening. That means parts of Teller County and Monument Hill could see some snow mixing in with rain on Monday.

Things dry out for Tuesday with sunny skies and cool temperatures. High will hover in the upper 50s.
