COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - Whitmore is the Pet of the Week from the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region! Whitmore is an 8-year-old neutered male, 80 lbs, tan & white Pit Bull mix who came into HSPPR as a stray.
He is a sweet boy who has been a little shy at the shelter and is looking for a patient family to help him come out of his shell! He is treat-motivated, already knows “sit” and “down,” and takes treats gently.
Whitmore walks on a leash very well, but workers says they have a feeling he would love to lie on a couch and snuggle up with his people.
While Whitmore came in with another dog, he has shown some discomfort when meeting unfamiliar dogs, so slow, carefully managed introductions will be important. He may also need supervision when outdoors and/or around open doors.
Whitmore’s adoption fee is only $99 and he will go home with his vaccinations, a voucher for a vet exam, and a microchip.
You can see all the other cats, dogs, and small animals available for adoption at HSPPR.org or stop by the shelter at 610 Abbot Lane to visit Whitmore this weekend.
The Adoption Center is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
